Introduction:
PPP installation method for Macintosh is very much similar
to our usual IBM compatible computer. The major difference
being between IBM compatible and Mac software is the kind
of dial up networking being used. In Mac computers, we have
an option of using Free PPP or PPP software (which can be
differentiated visually by their icons). The other major difference
is their basic working of the operating system (which I hope
you are pretty much familiar with). The other difference is
the type of compressed files. In Mac most of the compressed
file in *.HQX format which can be decompressed with the help
of Stuffit Expander or Stuffit Delux. Details can be viewed
in www.tucows.com

as username, password and telephone number 240525 for Internet
connection. We can click the option of save password if
the user does not want to enter his password details each
and every time. To save the changes click on the small square
box located in the top left hand corner of the PPP window.

If you are using Free PPP, double click on the Free PPP
Setup icon located on the desktop or on the hard disk. If
Free PPP setup cannot be seen on the desktop create a duplicate
copy from the hard disk. Here we need to add an account

telephone number and Primary and Secondary DNS numbers i.e.
202.52.255.47 and 202.52.255.3. The next thing is to choose
our type of modem and the modem port. The modem port can
be Modem Port for external modem and Internal Port for internal
modem. Also adjust the speed accordingly to the optimum
value of 38400 bps. Clicking on the Connect button can make
the required connection.
